Manchester City beats Tottenham to move at top of Premier League table
WHITE HART LANE: Manchester City crushed Tottenham Hotspur with a defeat by 5-1 at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
The victory moved Manchester City to the top of the Premier League table with 53 points replacing Arsenal having 52 points, followed by Chelsea and Liverpool at third and fourth respectively.
Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Vincent Kompany posted one goal each for Manchester City.
Tottenham displayed good resistance in the first half of the game but wasn’t able to maintain it in the second half being dominated by Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero scored in an eighth successive game to give them an early lead and maintained it till the end of the first half. Aguero completed his half century of goals in Premier League from 81 games and became the fifth fastest man to a half century, behind Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Fernando Torres.
Four goals have been scored by Manchester City in the second half while only one goal was posted by E Capoue in 69th minute for Tottenham.
