Mathews ton hands SL advantage

ABU DHABI: Sri Lanka were 420-5 in their second innings at close on the fourth day of the first Test against Pakistan here on Friday – ARY News reports.

Angelo Mathews scored 116 for his second Test century to help Sri Lanka, who resumed at 186-4 and in danger of losing the match, are now 241 runs ahead and can harbour hopes of an unlikely win on the fifth and final day.

Prasanna Jayawardene was 48 not out and helped Mathews add an invaluable 96 runs for the unbroken sixth wicket stand.

Mathews also added 138 runs for the fifth wicket with Dinesh Chandimal, who made 89, as Sri Lanka lost only one wicket after resuming at 186-4.

Pacemen Junaid Khan finished with 3-79 while Bilawal Bhatti took 2-131.
