KARACHI: Pakistan disabled cricket player, Matloob Qureshi is highly optimistic ahead of the T-20 Tri-Nation series for disabled, penciled in from July 8 in England.

Talking to ARY News on first day of the three-day training camp ahead of the crucial England tour, Matloob said their team was topped up with quality and competitive players who could bring top-notch results for Pakistan disabled team.

“It is going to be a tough contest all along, but the team is well gelled to face it,” he said.

The one-handed batsman said that the conditions there were a bit tough, however they had prepared themselves in accordance with that.

He said they had formulated different strategies to do well in the series that included Bangladesh other than the hosts, England.

“The coaches have made best possible plans for the competition and hopefully the results will go in our favor,” he said.

To a question about the difficulty in playing with one hand, he replied that nothing was impossible and achieving so much with one hand was a pleasure for him.

“It is always a surprise moment for the ones who watch me playing for the very first time, but for me this is a normal feature.

“Playing cricket was my dream and more than that representing Pakistan on international level,” he said.

The 26-year-old opening batsman who made his career’s maiden century against English in 2014 is looking forward to do the same this time as well.

“I came up with flying colors against England and that was one of the best series ever in my cricketing career,” he said.

Matloob, resident of Multan, made his debut for the national disabled team in 2009. Since then, he never looked back and went on to bring glory to Pakistan. He has, with his one-handed playing ability, put cricket pundits in awe.

Pakistan disabled team is currently taking part in a three day training camp before leaving for England.
