Mawra Hocaine to star in Bollywood film
Mawra Hocaine will be appearing in a Bollywood flick that will be shot in Mumbai and Cape Town. The pretty actress did not cough up much details about the project hence the name of the film and the director are still anyone’s guess. However, reportedly Mawra has already left for Mumbai and Cape Town in order to start filming for her movie.
Mawra garnered critical acclaim for her acting prowess and good looks when she starred in several Pakistani drama serials, such as Main Bushra, Mere Huzoor and Ahista Ahista. Mawra’s elder sister Urwa Hocaine also started out as a Vj and model before making it big as an actress. Urwa starred in the acclaimed Pakistani comedy film Na Maloom Afraad alongside Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh and Mohsin Abbas Haider.
In March of this year, Mawra had stepped foot in India to scour for scripts and select a Bollywood project. Mawra had also voiced her admiration and affection for heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, prompting the actor to record a video message for her.
It remains to be seen if Mawra will make a mark in Bollywood or not. Whilst Pakistani actors such as Ali Zafar, fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have established themselves in the Indian film industry, there are others such as Humaima Malick, Veena Malik and Sara Loren who have failed to make a lasting impression in Bollywood.
Arjit Singh will reportedly be singing all the songs in Mawra’s film, while Himesh Reshammiya is producing the music. The film is expected to release in September this year.
