The documentary aired on BBC News program ‘Panorama’ claims that Mahmood is involved in criminal activities including drug dealing. The undercover journalist who once worked for now defunct ‘News of the World’ tried to stop the documentary from being aired by  launching a High Court challenge to it.

In 2011, Mahmood exposed the spot fixing scandal which rocked the cricketing world resulting in a ban on three of Pakistan’s mainstream players Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.

Former UK Attorney General Lord Goldsmith has called for re-examination of the reporter’s record and review of all convictions involving evidence from Mazher Mahmood. A ray of hope for Pakistan’s banned cricketers.
