Mehmood demands judicial inquiry of Punjab Youth Festival 2014
LAHORE: Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly (PA), Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed has said that the people of Punjab were fooled by planting fake representatives of Guinness Book of World Records in the Punjab Youth Festival 2014. He added that such a massive fraud on official level, is a moment of great concern and a judicial inquiry of the event must be held – ARY News reports.
In a letter written to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, Mehmood ur Rasheed stated that billions of rupees were looted during the Punjab Youth Festival 2014, the Government of Punjab reiterates its devotion to merit, but this case is making fun of all its claims.
He said that Punjab Youth festival 2014 is a test case for the Chief Minister of Punjab, now he must hold transparent investigations of the event and order a judicial inquiry of it.
The Opposition Leader said that several crore rupees were paid to the officials witnessing different events at the festival, without any formal documentation.
Moreover, he claimed that Shahbaz Sharif has lost his command over provincial affairs and he must inquire his son MNA Hamza Shahbaz for this.
