Members of Sindh Assembly pay tribute to SCWC players
KARACHI: Members of Sindh Assembly paying tribute to Street Child World Cup (SCWC) players has announced prizes for their wonderful performance, ARY News reported.
Upon the arrival of young footballers in Karachi after securing third position in the tournament, the team paid a visit to the Sindh Assembly where many of the MPAs including Sharmila Farooqui gave them a standing ovation.
To show their support for the team, the Sindh government announced that each player would be rewarded with Rs 200,000 and Education Minister Nisar Khoro announced that each player shall receive free education till college.
Speaking on the occasion MPA Rubina Qaimkhani said these children has showed any goal can be achieved with the true spirit.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Khurram Sher Zaman gave Rs 10,000 to each player, while Minister for Youth Affairs Mumtaz Ali Jakhrani announced a total of Rs 500,000 to be rewarded to the entire team.
In addition, captain of Street Child team Pakistan said the players had worked hard for the event and better results can be achieved with the supervision of government.
