SRINAGAR: President Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday burst with anger over custodial death of a Kashmiri man saying that innocent men were hauled up from their homes for interrogation and returned home only in coffins.

“Government’s repressive approach leaves young educated men vulnerable who are forced to take up arms. Stop using Kashmir to exhibit your sick chauvinistic nationalism. We have suffered enough,” Mehbooba Mufti wrote in response to martyrdom of a school teacher, Rizwan Asad, in police custody in Awantipora town, Pulwama.

The Kashmiri political leader also lashed out at the government for withdrawal of security to Kashmiri leaders terming it as a pre poll rigging. She demanded from the Election Commission of India to take notice and intervene.

“Security to political leaders being used as a political tool. Withdrawal of security to Waheed, Faesal and er Rashid is a brazen attempt at influencing elections. It’s a kind of pre poll rigging. ECI should immediately intervene,” she tweeted.
