Mikhail Kalashnikov, inventor of AK-47 dies at the age of 94

IZHEVSK: Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov, a Russian scientist who invented the most popular assault rifle ‘Kalashnikov’ died at the age of 94, ARY News reported.

 According to sources, Mikhail Kalashnikov has lost his life on December 23. He was admitted to hospital with internal bleeding in November.

The automatic rifle ‘AK-47’ he designed become the most deadliest and widely used small weapon. The main reason behind its popularity is its comparative simplicity that made it cheap to manufacture, as well as reliable and easy to maintain. 

However, in his last days of life he said if it is known to him that his invention could be so fatal for the humanity, he will never bring it to public.
