Additional IG Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo told that for restoring law and order in the metropolis, it is inevitable to prevent the smuggling of arms into the city and to keep a check on suspected persons.
“For this purpose, police and paramilitary Rangers were already deployed at the entry and exit points of the city, but from now on military troops will also be positioned at these points in order to further enhance security checks”, told the Additional IG Karachi.
Officials said that police check-posts will also be established along Karachi’s border area.
In the first phase of deployment, military troops have taken positions at the Super Highway, National Highway and RCD Highway.
