KOHISTAN: Tribal conflict over the limitations of Diamer Bhasha dam has worsened because of the silence of the Government commission on the issue due to which casualties are being feared by the local elders – ARY News reports.
The statement was made by a member of the National Assembly, Sarzameen Khan from constituency NA-23 Kohistan, during his exclusive word with ARY News.
He urged the Federal Government to take measures on emergency basis to avoid any mishap regarding embattled tribesmen in Kohistan mountain ranges.
Yesterday, an armed conflict aroused between two native tribes over the limitations of the dam, as a result of which 3 people were killed while several were injured.
A jirgah of the tribal elders had managed a temporary ceasefire among the confronting people; however they are still present at their posts awaiting each other to retreat.
