Modi shakes hand with PM Nawaz immediately after taking oath

NEW DELHI: Narendra Modi, after taking oath as the Prime Minister of India, warmly shook hand with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif – ARY News reports.

With the dusk, the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi also came to an end in the capital city of New Delhi. After swearing in as the 15th Prime Minister of India, Modi first of all had a warm handshake with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif.

Following him, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee also shook hand with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Afterwards the Prime Minister of Mauritius Abdullah Yasin, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Prime Minister of Bhutan, Prime Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala also shook hand with the new Indian Prime Minister and felicitated him.

Experts of international affairs said that the fact Modi after taking oath first of all shook hand with Pakistan premier, Nawaz Sharif, indicates that the new Indian Government will give priority to its relations with Pakistan.
