Mohammad Asif Toba eases into Asian Snooker Championship quarterfinal

FUJAIRAH: National champion Mohammad Asif Toba cruised past into the quarter-final of the 30th Asian Snooker Championship at Al Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, ARY News reported.

Asif rounded off the pre quarter-final with a persuasive 4-1 victory over Hong Kong’s Yuttapop Pakpoj. 

Asif was the only Pakistani cueist who remained unbeaten in the event, having overwhelmed Meqdad Taqi of Kuwait, Shaikh Khalil of Syria and Abdul Rahman Alshamsi of the UAE in the previous matches.

Meanwhile, Asjad Iqbal faced a defeat from Chung Ming Hung of China-Tapei in a close competition.

The semi final of the tournament will be played tomorrow while final is scheduled on May 3.
