LARKANA: Former President, Asif Ali Zardari has said that Benazir Bhutto was not just the daughter of Sindh, but also the daughter of the Eastern World, whose services can never be forgotten – ARY News reports.
He was addressing the ceremony of Benazir Bhutto Women Excellency Awards here on Thursday. On this occasion, 10 women were also presented the awards including the women from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
During his address, Asif Ali Zardari said that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto faced all the hardships bravely, he worked for the state and the people will never forget her services.
He added that the mission initiated by Mohtarma for the welfare of women, Sindh Government has been continuing it.
The Government of Sindh distributed lands among the women farmers and now I shall ask the provincial government to establish a Sindh Women Bank in the province, which could provide loans to the women for their occupation and business, added the former President of Pakistan.
Zardari further said that the Chief Minister Sindh have been directed to double the sum of 130 million rupees allocated for the development of the women.
Moreover, in another ceremony Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asifa Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the Leasing Section and Insurance Section of the Sindh Bank.
Bilawal, Bakhtawar and Asifa also visited the grave of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and prayed to Allah to heighten her stages in the hereafter.
