Moin Akhter’s 63rd Birthday

KARACHI: 63 birthday of king of comedy, humorist and a versatile artist Moin Akhter was celebrated all around Pakistan today, ARY News reported.

Moin Akhter was highly dynamic and versatile performer, who made his debut for television on September 6, 1966 with a variety show on Pakistan Television(PTV) to celebrate the first defense day of Pakistan.

Moin Akhtar performed over 1000 different characters successfully in TV and stage plays. One of the most prominent among them was his performance in the drama ‘Rozy ‘, an Urdu adaptation of Hollywood movie ‘Tootsie’, in which he played the role of a female TV artist. 

His another masterpiece which delighted his fans was a talk-show namely ‘Loose Talk’, which began in 2005 on ARY Digital in which Moin appeared as a different character in each and every of over 400 episodes interviewed by Anwar Maqsood, the writer and the host of the program. 

Moin Akhter was a multi talented person, who was a Pakistani television, film and stage actor, as well as a humorist, comedian, impersonator, and a host. He was also a play writer, singer, film director and a producer. He was a very intelligent host of shows and the fans appreciated his witty anchoring massively. 

Moin Akhter died on April 22, 2011 from a heart attack.The world famous wax museum Madame Tussauds has expressed its wish to include a statue of Moin Akhtar in their London museum. If made, it will be the first of its kind for any Pakistani entertainer.
