KARACHI: Several parts of the metropolis received drizzle and light rainfall on Saturday morning, turning the weather pleasant.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted cloudy weather in Karachi with light rainfall at isolated places to bring down the mercury level. The minimum and maximum temperature in the city will remain at 27 and 32 degree Celsius, respectively, the met office said.
The weather department said monsoon currents are penetrating the upper parts of the country and a westerly wave is affecting Kashmir and adjoining areas.
It said rainfall with thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in upper Punjab – Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore – Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, and Fata. Whereas, hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country within 24 hours.
Balochistan’s Sibbi will experience the highest temperature of 45 degree Celsius, whereas Sindh’s Dadu will reel under the temperature of 42 degree Celsius. Dalbandin, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Rohri, Shaheed Benazirabad will experience 41 degree centigrade temperature.
