JARANWALA: A mother and her daughter were killed as they were returning from a festival in Jaranwala, ARY News reports.
The incident occurred at Chak No. 128-G/B when a person named Asghar was returning home from a festival with his wife and daughters. Three dacoits tried to stop their rickshaw near a railway crossing.
Rickshaw driver Mohammad Hota increased the speed of his vehicle due to which the robbers opened indiscriminate fire which resulted in the death of Parveen and her eight year old daughter Mahwish.
Infant Fatima miraculously survived the firing incident.
Residents of the area severely protested against the incident. The family of the deceased said that the gang has looted several people before in the area.
