MPA Jawed Nagori escapes gunmen attack in Lyari

KARACHI: A member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh Jawed Nagori was ambushed by a group of gunmen in Lyari on late Saturday, but his guards foiled the attack, ARY News reported.

MPA Nagori was passing by Lyari’s Kharadar area on Saturday night when gunmen attacked his vehicle, prompting his guards to retaliate. The gunmen fled after the MPA’s guards fired shots at them.

No loss of life was reported in the incident.

Later talking to media, Javed Nagori said armed men tried to kill him in Lyari area. He didn’t disclose further details.

In May 2015, Akbar Nagori, brother Jawed Nagori succumbed to his injuries following a hand grenade attack at the office of the minister, located at Shah Waliullah Road, Lyari.

Six people were injured and brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where Akbar Nagori died during treatment.
