KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is likely to announce key decisions in a press conference today (Tuesday) in Karachi, ARY News reports.
An emergency meeting of MQM Raabta Committee (MQM RC) was held in MQM Headquarters at Azizabad. The coordination committee labeled the arrest of workers as "unlawful". Raabta Committee said that the CID and Police are arresting common people and subjecting them to torture.
MQM RC alleged that millions of rupees are being demanded from the families of the arrested people for their release. They warned that a strong protest will be held if the situation does not improve.
They also expressed concern over the killing of urdu-speaking people.
According to the coordination committee, six of the MQM workers went missing after their arrest two days ago.
MQM RC announced that a peaceful protest will take place against the illegal activities of the law enforcing agencies.
They also asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassadduq Hussain Jillani to take suo-moto notice of the cops in plain clothes.
