MQM announces day of mourning against killing of PAT workers

ISLAMABAD: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe countrywide day of mourning tomorrow (Wednesday) to mourn the killings of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers during clash with police in Lahore, ARY News reported Tuesday.

Opposition parties also staged a walkout from the National Assembly against police assault on PAT workers.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar, while speaking to media outside NA, said it had become evident that who was the enemy of democracy.

He said suppressing people with force was an inhumane act.

MQM has appealed traders and transporters in Karachi to keep their routine businesses shut in observance of its day of mourning.

At least seven people including two women have been killed in clash with police in Lahore outside the residence of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri.
