LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday summoned Federal Secretary of Interior in his personal capacity in the next hearing of a petition seeking ban on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over anti-Pakistan slogans, ARY News reported.

A three member bench of the LHC heard the petition seeking ban on MQM today.

Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar during the hearing said that the government should tell the court what action has been taken over the anti-Pakistan slogans. The government should take action over the matter as it is the duty of the government not the judiciary, the learned justice remarked.

The bench ordered the Interior Secretary to appear before the court in his personal capacity in the next hearing of the case and inform the court what steps have been taken over the matter, learned judge said.

The court, later adjourned the hearing till October 24.
