MQM Chief appeals to solve issue via talks instead of force
He asked Prime Minsiter Nawaz Shrif to initiate meaningful talks with Chief of PAT, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and PTI Chief Imran Khan for the sake of democracy, system and safeguard of innocent lives, ARY News reported.
In an exclusive interview, MQM Chief strongly condemned the brutal violence of police on peaceful protesters and media men. He said delay in solving the political crisis will further harm the economy of the country as well as loss of more human lives.
“If the government’s violence provoke the people of Sindh and Pakistan to take extreme steps then I will not be able to control them”, he warned.
Altaf Hussain said during the previous tenure of current government an operation was conducted against MQM, governor rule was implemented in Sindh and it was clearly stated in APC that no dialogues would be held with MQM.
Despite all this, MQM tried to solve political differences between government and opposition through negotiations, he added.
Altaf Hussain said he always preferred to solve issues in a peaceful manner remaining under the constitution. He regretted that government adopted unconstitutional way to control the protest and used force to disperse protesters which suspended the process of negotiations.
“I requested government officials to make two groups, assigned them with the task to hold talks with Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan, and keep doing negotiations until the issue resolved but unfortunately they (government) didn’t follow my request”, he complained.
Altaf Hussain appealed government, PAT and PTI to observe patience and tolerance in solving the political turmoil.
