MQM delegates meet British Dy. HC, record protest over BBC's documentary
KARACHI: A 7-member high level delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has met the British Deputy High Commissioner and presented him a protest memo in the form of a letter addressed to the British Prime Minister, David Cameron – ARY News reports.
It was mentioned in the memo that the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) aired a documentary based upon malafide intentions for MQM and its Chief Altaf Hussain, which has hurt the emotions of millions of people.
The delegation comprised of Barrister Farogh Naseem, Faisal Sabzwari, Syed Sardar Ahmed and others.
On this occasion, MQM delegates told that the party believes in the Press Freedom, yet it considers a media trial of a person as yellow journalism and it reserves its democratic, legal and constitutional right against any such act.
The British Deputy High Commissioner was told that the BBC had also broadcasted a similar documentary prior to this, which has affected the repute of the world renowned media entity.
