KARACHI: A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) met the Federal Interior Minister of Pakistan Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here at the Governor House on Saturday, ARY News reports.
According to a release by MQM, discussions were made on the overall law and order situation of the country, strengthening the law and order situation of the country especially Karachi and other affairs. They also agreed to work together for sustainable peace in the city.
The delegates included National Assembly member Dr. Farooq Sattar, Senator Babar Ghouri and MQM representatives Dr. Sagheer Ahmed and Kunwar Naveed Jameel.
In the meeting, the Federal Interior Minister assured the party delegation that the targeted operations are being carried out against the criminals and not any specific political party.
Third stage of the targeted operation will be more robust and active.
Chaudhry Nisar also met with Governor Sindh and discussed the results achieved through the operations in the city. He said that peace in Karachi is the first priority.
"The operations in Karachi will continue till the terrorists are crushed", he said.
They also discussed to form a joint strategy on the political situation. The two parties also agreed to increase contacts in the future.
