MQM delegation reaches MQI secretariat with food supplies

LAHORE: Punjab government allowed a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation with food supplies for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers to reach Model Town after a brief protest by the delegation members, ARY News reported.

The MQM delegation with food supplies reached Model Town, the administration did not allow them to reach Minhaj-ul-Quran International secretariat (PAT headquarters). Upon their protest, provincial government allowed them to reach the MQI secretariat.

MQM delegation provided food supplies to PAT officials who thanked the party men for their assistance in this hour of test.

On the other hand, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar contacted MQM chief Altaf Hussain on phone and exchanged views on the current political situation of Pakistan.

Altaf Hussain besides asking Governor to play his role in solving the crisis complained that federal government despite their announcement has not removed containers and other barriers from Model Town and other areas of Lahore.

The Punjab Governor showed willingness to play his role in resolving the current political crisis.
