MQM ends sit-ins in Karachi

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced to end the sit-ins after the release of seven party workers, ARY News reports.

MQM had staged sit-ins in various parts of Karachi including Chief Minister House, Numaish Intersection and Teen Talwar against the arrest of the party workers.

MQM Sindh Assembly member Faisal Sabzwari, while speaking with media, said that 15 out of 23  detained workers have been released. He hoped that rest of the arrested workers will be released soon.

Sabzwari also said that MQM is a peaceful party and will cooperate with law enforcing agencies in arresting the criminals in the city.

He added that the party supports the ongoing targeted operation in the city but will not accept oppression in the name of operation.
