MQM demands end to its 'media trial'

According to details, MQM workers and supporters held a demonstration outside the Karachi office of ARY News on Thursday.

On the occasion, Haider Abbas Rizvi said that it’s the misconception of some ‘prejudiced’ anchors of a media house if they think that the people of Karachi will leave Altaf Hussain.

Faisal Sabzwari said that no one should consider himself a ‘god’ sitting on a TV channel.

Khushbakht Shujaat accused ARY News of holding the media trial of MQM and practising yellow journalism, whereas Wasim Akhtar said that he knows a source of salary income of that particular news anchor who is targeting MQM.

MQM leaders slammed that some political parties consider the Karachi populace as ‘living corpses’ and said that the Karachiites will not vote for them.

They said that Altaf Hussain cannot be isolated from MQM mere on baseless charges against him.

Rangers on March 11 raided the offices of MQM in Karachi, seizing a “huge quantity” of weapons and arresting activists, including one accused of murdering a journalist.

The raid on the MQM headquarters, known as “NineZero“, sparked an angry response from the party, with workers shutting down large parts of Pakistan’s biggest city.

At least one supporter of the MQM, the fourth-largest party in parliament, died as government paramilitary Rangers opened fire on protesting activists.
