MQM-London’s target killer among 16 arrested in Karachi raids: Police

KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested sixteen suspects, a target killer of a political party among them, during overnight raids carried out in different parts of the metropolis, ARY News reported.

Police said they carried out search operation in the city’s Baldia Town and arrested fifteen people over suspension of their involvement in criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Manghopir police said they have arrested a suspected target killer associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement London (MQM-L) and recovered 30 bore pistol, hashish and five rounds from his possession.

The suspect identified as Amir alias Kala was arrested in the area bordering Balochistan province, police officials said, adding that he was smuggling narcotics into the city from Balochistan.

On Saturday, police had arrested four sons who stabbed to death their elderly father in Shershah area of the city after a brawl over a family dispute.

Four people were arrested for assailing their father with knife in Shershah neighbourhood of the metropolis.

The victim has been identified as Shakeel, who succumbed to his injuries during the treatment in a hospital, stabbed by his sons after a quarrel broke out between the father and his sons over a family matter.

Police have shifted the assailants to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
