MQM MNA Tahira Asif passes away in Lahore
LAHORE: Parliamentarian of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Tahira Asif passed away in Shaikh Zayed Hospital of Lahore in the late hours of Thursday, ARY News reports.
She will be laid to rest at Kamal Shah graveyard on Friday evening.
Tahira Asif was severely injured unidentified men opened fire at her as she was going to Islamabad from Lahore.
She was rushed to Shaikh Zayed Hospital and the doctors removed the bullets from her body. However, one bullet had damaged her coronary artery. She was put on ventilator but she succumbed to her injuries.
Raabta Committee member Khalid Maqbool Jan confirmed that she had passed away. He also demanded the immediate arrest of her killers. The coordination committee has announced mourning of three days.
MQM workers chanted slogans against the Punjab Government.
The political and religious figures also condemned the killings.
