ISLAMABAD: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to move an amendment into rules and procedure of Senate to ensure Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s participation in the sessions, ARY News reported.

Sources told that MQM Senator Tahir Mashhadi will present an amendment in the Senate rules and procedure during the session.

If adopted, the new amendment will bound the prime minister to attend Senate session.

Mashhadi said the prime minister was not attending the Senate session for a long time.

He also demanded that ‘Zero Hour’ in Senate should be converted into Prime Minister’s Zero Hour.

According to rules of procedure and conduct of business in the Senate, the last half an hour of a sitting shall be utilized as “Zero Hour” in a Senate session to take up matters of urgent public importance.
