KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) is reportedly to issue white paper today (Wednesday) in a bid to expose Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on its alleged discriminatory policies towards the people of Sindh, specifically urban residents, and corruption, ARY News reported.
The decision to issue white papers against PPP was taken yesterday in a meeting presided by MQM-P Chief Farooq Sattar.
Amin-ul-Haq, the MQM-P’s information in-charge, apprised the media yesterday that the party would issue white papers in a press conference today.
He said that PPP appointed people on key positions under favouritism and nepotism.
“Powers to local representative have been denied for eight years”, he added.
The MQM-P has accused PPP, in the white papers, of denying equal rights to the urban populating and having a discriminatory policy towards them by refusing to transfer powers to the local government representatives and public jobs to urban population.
MQM-P has held PPP responsible for allegedly creating an atmosphere of unrest in Karachi by triggering riots.
Key party members including Mayor Karachi, MPAs of MQM-P are expected in the press conference.
