MQM plans ‘historic’ rally in support of armed forces

KARACHI: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has asked the party’s Rabita (coordination) committee to organize a historic ‘solidarity rally’ for armed forces in Karachi, ARY News reported Friday.

In a statement from London, Hussain said Pakistan army was leading a crucial and a difficult war of country’s history. He said print and electronic media, as their national duty, must provide due coverage to solidarity rally for army.

He appealed the religious and political leaders, traders, industrialists, labourers, students and people from different walks of life should spare a time from their routine and demonstrate full support for armed forces.

The MQM chief said the venue and date for the rally will be announced soon.
