MQM, PMLF delegates meet Chaudhry Nisar, express concerns over targeted operations

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PMLF) delegations have met the Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and expressed their reservations on the ongoing targeted operations in the metropolis – ARY News reports.

The Federal Interior Minister is here to review the law and order situation upon the directives of the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. He met the Chief Minister, Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat ul Ebad separately.

Nisar also chaired a high level law and order meeting earlier today along with CM Sindh. The meeting was attended by Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon, Minister of State, Hakeem Baloch, Chief Secretary Sindh, Additional Chief Secretary, DG Rangers, Additional IG Karachi and officials of the intelligence agencies (IAs).

The meeting was briefed by the Additional IG, Shahid Hayat about the overall law and order situation and targeted operations in the city.

The Federal Interior Minister also inquired about the missing MQM workers.

Later, MQM delegates met Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at the Governor House and informed him about their serious concerns over the targeted operations in Karachi, extrajudicial killings of MQM workers and torture under the custody of law enforcement agencies (LEAs).

Moreover, a delegation of PMLF also met the Interior Minister and discussed with him affairs relating to law and order and terrorism here.
