Four injured after MQM, PSP workers clash in Karachi Central Jail

KARACHI: Four people was injured after an altercation between members of the Mutahida Quami Movement (MQM) and the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) at the Karachi Central Jail.

Members of the both parties had a verbal altercation with each other which erupted into a clash. Jail authorities confirmed that the injured have been shifted to hospital, while eight inmates have been shifted to the prison jail ward.

The clash took place after Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali made an unscheduled visit to the jail, along with a delegation of several judges. Jail authorities were taken by surprise on the visit and several inmates were barred from meeting their families.

Both parties raised slogans against each, after which jail authorities asked for Rangers assistance who reached there and immediately controlled the situation.

It may be mentioned that mayor Waseem Akhtar of the MQM,  and PSP leader Anees Qaimkhani are currently incarcerated in the same prison along with several workers of both parties.
