MQM lawmaker Sajid Ahmed submitted the resolution in the National Assembly secretariat today.

The resolution states that at least 20 new provinces should be carved out in the country. “The demand for new provinces is as old as political history of Pakistan.”

It said provinces were merged in the country instead of forming new ones.

During the election campaigns before 2013 polls, several calls were made in Punjab for new provinces but the issue disappeared after initial clamours.
