MQM stages protest sit-in over Altaf Hussain’s arrest in London

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has staged a protest sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi, against the arrest of MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain, while MQM workers along with their families will stage sit-ins outside the press clubs in other cities as well – ARY News reports.

London Metropolitan Police finally initiated an action, which was feared since long ago. MQM decided to protest against the arrest of its Chief, Altaf Hussain in London.

Scores of MQM workers have reached Numaish Chowrangi and staging a protest sit-in here. Meanwhile, an incident of aerial firing also took place near MQM Secretariat, Nine-Zero, where a clash reportedly took place between MQM workers and law enforcement agencies, while the workers in the form of a rally were leading to Numaish Chowrangi.

MQM leader, Haider Abbas Rizvi has said that it will be awaited as to when Altaf Hussain will address party workers. It was said that MQM workers will continue the sit-in until the party Chief, Altaf Hussain reaches his home in London and they listen to him, no matter how long does it take.

Earlier to this, MQM member of Sindh Assembly, Bilqees Mukhtar went on a hunger strike outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC), over the arrest of MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain.
