What this means is that the traveling of MQM chief Altaf Hussain is no longer restricted. MQM supporters, admirers and activists from Karachi and london were overjoyed at the news.

The Metropolitan Police had confiscated the British passport of Altaf Hussain after the party chief was being investigated for money laundering charges. However, on February 2nd, 2016, bail conditions against Altaf Hussain and other members of MQM were dropped on grounds of ‘insufficient evidence’.

Needless to say, upon hearing the news, MQM workers were jubilant.

“Soon after the news of the return of Mr. Hussain’s passport was made public, MQM offices in London, Pakistan and other parts of the world received innumerable phone calls, fax messages and other social media applications expressing joy,” read a post on the official website of MQM.
