KARACHI: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement presented on Monday the resolution against Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) in Sindh Assembly, ARY News reported.
Speaking at the floor of the house, MQM MPA Khwaja Izhar-ul-Hasan said PPP was in contradiction with the constitution, hence it should be revoked. “Security forces do not require PPO to fight against extremist elements,” he told the house, adding PPO will certainly violate the human right values.
He said under the constitution, the arrested persons must be presented before the court.
MQM legislator Syed Sardar Ahmed said a law must be based on justice, and anything concerning lawlessness could not be termed legislation.
While other MPAs including Samar Ali Khan of the PTI also opposed the PPO.
