MQM walks out of SA over Tahira Asif’s killing

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) walked out of the session of the house in protest of MQM Parliamentarian Tahira Asif’s killing, ARY News reports.

The session of the Sindh Assembly was presided by Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani. During the session, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM’s Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan presented seperate resolutions in the house.

Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan blamed Punjab Government and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif responsible for Tahira Asif’s killing.

A tussle was witnessed between MQM MPAs and Irfanullah Marwat of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) when Punjab Government was blamed for Tahira Asif’s killing. Marwat said that no one should be blamed without any proof.

Sindh Assembly members of PPP, MQM, PML-N, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) passed a resolution, paying tribute to former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto who sacrificed her life for the cause of democracy.

The house passed the resolution on Benazir’s birthday on June 21st (tomorrow).
