KARACHI: The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist, Fahad Aziz, who was arrested last night from Shah Faisal area during his wedding ceremony has now been released on personal bond (a surity to appear before the court on prescribed date) , ARY News reported on Sunday.
Aziz was picked up by policemen on Saturday night for his alleged involvement in criminal activities. However, sources said none of the charges against Aziz could be proved.
SSP East SSP Peer Muhammad Shah confirmed that the MQM worker had been released on bail.
It is pertinent to mention here that following the arrest of Aziz, MQM leaders had thronged the Chief Minister House and staged protest sit-in against the move. They had also demanded that Additional IG Karachi Shahid Hayat Khan should be removed from his post.
