KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) on Friday approved the bail application of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader and parliamentarian Kanwar Naveed Jamil, ARY News reported.

The cases pertain to the incendiary speeches and anti-state slogans raised by MQM founder on August 22 last year, and attack on media organisations. The court granted bail in the two cases after submitting surety bonds worth two million rupees each.

ATC also issued the release orders in three separate cases and granted bail after submitting surety bonds of 100,000 rupees each.

Later, Kanwar Naveed reached the temporary headquarters of the MQM in PIB Colony where he was given a rousing welcome by other party leaders including Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and Rauf Siddiqui.
