MQM’s name belongs solely to Altaf Hussain, says Kamal

KARACHI: Pak Sarzamen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal said the brand name of the Muttahaida Quami Movement (MQM) is and will always belong to founder Altaf Hussain.

He was speaking to ARY News program “Aitraaz” outside the Karachi Press Club where the party has launched an unprecedented protest movement to raise concern over the prevailing issues in the city.

Kamal said there should be hope that the MQM Pakistan led by Farooq Sattar and the PSP could join hands or merge in the future. He said that they have received an overwhelming response and will let any harm caused to the people of Karachi.

When asked about the recent statement of Governor Sindh Zubair Umar that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif deserved sole credit for the Karachi operation, Kamal said that the law-enforcement agencies along with army as well as the premier had an equal role in the operation.

However, Kamal said even the PSP had a played a role in the success of the Karachi operation as it removed the atmosphere of fear and restored sanity to the people of the city.

He said since the last one year, the PSP has tried to convert people from their ideology and restore sanity in their minds, which was the real success of the operation.
