MQM’s Wasim Akhtar places blame on PPP for Karachi’s damaged water pipelines and blocked gutters

Muttahida Quami Movement staged a sit-in protest outside the Election Commission office in Karachi today. Nominated Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar stated PPP was purposely trying to destroy the city’s sewerage and water supply system. Wasim Akhtar said if conditions were not met, power would be wrested from those who were unwilling to share it.

Another MQM representative Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan said PPP was never in favour of local bodies elections. A large number of women were also present in MQM’s sit-in protest today.

MQM had announced earlier a peaceful protest would be staged in order to expose PPP’s anti-MQM steps.

According to further details, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad  signed Amendment Ordinance. This would prove to be effective in removing obstacles from holding elections on special seats.
