KARACHI: Muharram-ul-Haram moon has been sighted in Pakistan on Sunday. The first Muharram would be on Monday while Youm-e-Ashur will fall on 12th of October, ARY News reported.
This was announced by Chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman while addressing a news conference after a meeting of the committee this evening in Karachi.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced public holiday in the entire province tomorrow (Monday) on the occasion of first Muharram-ul-Haram, martyrdom of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA).
The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in Peshawar.
The provincial government has officially notified that the public holiday will be observed on account of Youm-e-Shahadat Hazrat Umar-e-Farooq (Razi Allah o Ta’ala Anho).
