Earlier the committee headed by Senator Rehman Malik was being briefed about the Islamabad Safe City Project.  They were apprised that there were 1850 cameras at all entry and exit points of the city, which can identify people and cars and inform the control room. IG Islamabad also said that they have prepared around 25 smart police cars which are equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance system and are used for monitoring purposes. While giving further details, he said the Safe City Project had helped prevent a Mumbai-style attack in Islamabad.
