LAHORE: Ameer of Jamat e Islami (JI), Syed Munawwar Hassan while greeting the ceasefire by Taliban, has demanded the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif to lead the Government's negotiations team himself – ARY News reports.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Munawwar Hassan said that the inclusion of former bureaucrats in the negotiations process has created a situation of uncertainty, the Prime Minister should take political figures along with him and lead them.
Commenting on the ones demanding for a military offensive against Taliban, the JI Ameer said that demanding so such people are not making efforts to overcome unrest in the country, they are rather intended to devastate the entire state.
He further said that despite of the fact that 11 days have passed since Taliban announced a ceasefire, however the Government has not yet reconstituted it negotiations committee, this situation is arising several doubts and suspicions.
