Munawwar Hassan urges government and Taliban to declare ceasefire
MANSOORA: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawwar Hassan has expressed hope that Pakistan Army and government would agree to halt military operation in tribal areas and Taliban will stop any further actions, ARY News reported.
While addressing to the participants of Seminary in Mansoora on Sunday, Syed Munawwar Hassan said that neither anyone succeeded in changing the Islamic identity of Pakistan in past nor anyone will be able to do so.
Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami anarchist elements will not miss any chance to sabotage the negotiations process with Taliban; therefore government should not blame Taliban for every act of terrorism.
Munawwar Hassan advised Taliban and government to realize the sensitivity of the situation and keep confidence among each other.
He asked both the parties to announce ceasefire at earliest as whole Muslim world along with Pakistani nation are keeping eye on peace talks.
