LAHORE: Ameer Jamat e Islami (JI), Syed Munawwar Hassan has demanded the Government to take notice of the statement of Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States (US), Jalil Abbas Jillani, in which he had said that the US troops should prolong their stay in Afghanistan – ARY News reports.
In a statement issued on Friday, Munawwar said that 2014 is the year of US withdrawal from Afghanistan; he stressed the US to evacuate it and let the people there decide their fate.
He demanded the Government of Pakistan to take notice of the statement of Jalil Abbas Jillani, which does not coincide with his post.
The JI Ameer welcomed the statement of the European Union (EU) on Kashmir, in which the EU supported the right of self-determination of the Kashmiris.
He urged India and Pakistan both to let the people of Kashmir decide about their future, for this will promote peace in the region.
