Musharraf backs MQM's demand of passport for Altaf

KARACHI: Former President, General (R) Pervez Musharraf has said that he is unable to believe that a passport is not being issued to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief, Altaf Hussain. He added that depriving someone of citizenship is similar to being an international orphan – ARY News reports.

According to details, Pervez Musharraf expressed his astonishment over the issue of a passport not being issued to MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain. In his message on a social media website on Tuesday, the former President said that he is unable to believe that a passport and NIC is not being issued to Altaf Hussain.

He said that if this is true, then its condemnation to any extent will not be sufficed.

The former President of Pakistan said that no Pakistani can be deprived of his right of citizenship and it is similar to being an international orphan.

He stressed on the need to reconsider the reaction of MQM, on the issue.
