Musharraf Case: Court grants defence to withdraw plea on special court act
ISLAMABAD: Special court in Article-6 hearing against former president Pervez Musharraf on Monday allowed defence to withdraw their request related to the Special Court Act of 1976, ARY News reported on Monday.
The court said that the decision on the plea to hand over the report of the FIA to defence lawyers, would be taken on May 8. The decision on the plea was reserved on April 24.
Three judges bench, headed by Justice Faisal Arab, was hearing the case against the former military ruler.
Musharraf’s counsel Farogh Naseem in his arguments said Musharraf wanted to withdraw the written plea submitted in relation to section 6 of the Special Court Act and instead wanted to present arguments on it orally.
The court granted the defence to withdraw the application and said the decision to hand over the report of the FIA to defence counsels, would be taken on May 8.
